Barrancas National Cemetery

The Barrancas National Cemetery Design-Build Expansion project was constructed at Naval Air Station Pensacola for the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2019 for $25.0 million. This project included design and expanded burial capacity by developing about 15 acres of land with approximately 8,150 pre-placed crypt gravesites for casket interments (incl 650 oversized), 350 traditional gravesites, and a niche of 4,500 columbaria, for a total of 13,000 internment sites.

In addition to gravesite development, construction included memorial walls, an ossuary, memorial walkway, a new cortege lane, access roads, parking, utilities, signage, site furnishings, upgrades to the existing PIC/Admin, Maintenance Complex, and Historic Maintenance Building, irrigation modifications, drainage improvements, landscaping, FCA corrections, environmental preservation, and mitigation, including historical and cultural resources.
